Getting Here From Huntsville, Eden, and Liberty

If you live in the valley, you already know the road. Trappers Loop, the same highway that takes you to Snowbasin, drops straight into Mountain Green, and our hospital sits near its south end at the mouth of Weber Canyon.

Huntsville: about 20 minutes, straight over Trappers Loop on UT-167.
Eden: about 25 minutes, taking UT-158 south past Pineview Reservoir to the Trappers Loop junction.
Liberty: a few minutes beyond Eden, at the north end of the valley.

Why Valley Families Drive the Loop

The honest version: we're not in the valley, and we won't pretend the drive doesn't exist. For most Ogden Valley pet owners, though, a vet visit means a drive in some direction, and Trappers Loop is the easy one — no Ogden Canyon curves with an anxious dog pacing the back seat, no downtown traffic at the end, just open highway and a small, quiet hospital at the bottom.

That shows up in ways you notice from the first visit: the doctor who examined your dog in June is the one reading his bloodwork in November, and Monday hours run until 9 PM for the days when work ends far from home.

Lake Dogs, Trail Dogs, and Valley Cats

Valley pets live outdoors. Summer means Pineview: swimming dogs, wet ears, hot spots, the occasional cut pad. Fall and winter mean long trail miles, early snow, and ice-balled paws on the Snowbasin side. We see that whole cycle from our end of the pass, and it shapes how we practice.

A typical year might run through a spring comprehensive exam, vaccinations kept current for the dog who greets half the valley at the lake, a dental cleaning when tartar finally catches up, and bloodwork or an X-ray the day something seems off. Our laboratory and imaging are in-house. We perform spay and neuter surgery in our own suite, and we take emergency cases — call first at (801) 516-7004 so we can prepare before you cross the pass.

Frequent swimmers are prone to ear infections and skin irritation. Watch for head shaking, scratching, or a sour smell after lake days, and have it looked at early. We can also check ears as part of any regular exam.
